Lucknow: In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, an 11-year-old girl residing in a village in the Gilola area of Shravasti was kidnapped, raped, and subsequently killed. The accused, identified as Muzaffar Ali, had been living under the Hindu name Sheel Kumar in the village for the past 20 years. The villagers have informed the NP that the accused originally hails from Bangladesh.
According to the reports, the accused lured the young girl to an isolated location where he raped her. In an attempt to conceal his crime, he mercilessly strangled the girl to death. Subsequently, he placed her lifeless body in a sack and hid it in a bush near Mirchiha village, which falls under the jurisdiction of Payagpur police station.
The incident came to light when the girl did not return home for a long time. Worried about his daughter’s safety, the victim’s father filed a complaint against the accused, Sheel Kumar, and his family members, alleging kidnapping, at the Gilola police station. Responding promptly, the police registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
Law enforcement officials were able to locate and apprehend the accused near Parevpur in the Buddhist circuit. The police have taken swift action, charging the accused under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 302 (murder) and 376(A) (rape), along with relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Speaking to Neo Politico, the Village Pradhan expressed shock and dismay over the incident. The accused had been living in the village for two decades, adopting a Hindu identity despite being a Muslim. The revelation of the accused’s true identity has left the community stunned.
The local community stands united in condemning this brutal act and extending their support to the victim’s family during this difficult time. The case will now proceed through the legal system, with hopes that justice will be served and that incidents of this nature are prevented, ensuring the safety and well-being of every child in the region.
