Rajasthan: Police busted a Gang which only robbed ‘temples’ and houses of the ‘Upper Caste’ community

Jaipur: Udaipur police have busted a gang of thieves who were involved in at least 35 cases of theft. The arrested nine thieves have a modus operandi of targeting temples and the homes belonging to the upper caste community of a village.

As per the information shared by SP Vikas Sharma, these thieves had targeted at least 17 temples in the last few months. After too many similar cases of theft were becoming normal, the SP formed a special team and instructed them to burst this gang on urgency.

During interrogation, the accused told the police officials that they do recce before doing robbery. About 5-7 km before the crime scenes, they used to park their motorbikes and prefer to reach the site by taking a long walk. The accused never brought mobile phones to the site of the incident so that it would become hard for the investigating agencies to trace them.

However, based on inputs provided by the history sheeters of the area, police nabbed all nine accused from the Salumbar police station limits.

The arrested accused have been identified as Suresh Meena, Sohan Meena, Dhanna Meena, Laluram Meena, Prabhu Meena, Raju Meena, Ratiya Meena, Dinesh Meena and Naresha.
