Over Anti- Brahmin speech, Raipur Court sends Nand Baghel to jail

Raipur: After controversy erupted over alleged remarks of Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s father on the Brahmin community, a Raipur court has sent Nand Kumar Baghel to 15-day judicial custody here on Tuesday.

Before this, an FIR was registered against the Baghel by the Brahmin community on which he was taken into custody by the local police.

“Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel’s father Nand Kumar Baghel has been sent to 15-day judicial custody by a court in Raipur for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Brahmin community”, Nand Kumar’s lawyer Gajendra Sonkar told ANI.

Arrested from Delhi

He was arrested from Delhi and produced before a court in Raipur. Mr. Baghel has been accused of making derogatory remarks against the Brahmin community. However, Baghel has appologized for his speech which was gone viral on SM.
