D-Mart Faces Backlash After Employee Discriminates Against Hindu Customers Wearing Tilak

A video of a shocking incident at a D-Mart store in Karjat, Maharashtra is going viral. The video, shared by OpIndia, shows a store employee forcing a Hindu customer to wipe off his tilak on his forehead on the day of Ramnavami, while customers of other religions wearing religious symbols were not asked to remove them.

After learning about the incident, outraged locals went to the store and confronted the employee, demanding an explanation for his actions. The employee could not justify why he discriminated against customers wearing tilak, while customers of other religions were allowed to wear their religious symbols without issue.

The employee’s feeble attempts to defend his actions were met with further questions and criticism from the locals. The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many using the hashtag #BoycottDMart and calling for removing the staff involved.

Many have condemned the discriminatory behaviour of the D-Mart employee and urged the company to take action against such behaviour in the future. If such incidents continue to occur, some have warned that they will lodge a complaint with the police.
