New Delhi: A 50-year-old widow woman was allegedly raped and a steel glass was inserted in her private parts by four Dalit men in Jharkhand, India.
The gruesome incident took place when the woman was sleeping inside her mud house in Chatra district of the state on January 7. As the woman was alone at home, accused raped her in the night. When she resisted they inserted steel glass and pieces of mirror in her genitals.
After the incident woman fell unconscious and later admitted to a local hospital by the villagers from they referred her to a district hospital.
“She was admitted to a district hospital where a team of doctors had done an operation on an urgent basis. A small steel glass and pieces of mirror were inserted in her private parts”, Village Pradhan told NP.
“Bhuvaneshwar Yadav, the husband of the widow, had died almost 10 years ago. Due to which the woman was living isolated in the house. Taking advantage of this, the incident has been executed” he added.
Police have registered a complaint of sexual assault against Bablu Paswan, Biltu Paswan, Uttam Paswan and a relative of Bablu.
Chatra SP Rishabh Jha on Friday said that out of four, two named accused have been arrested while the identity of an unnamed accused is being ascertained and he too will be nabbed soon.
He further added that both of the accused have confessed to their crime.
