Court convicts complainant for misusing SC-ST Act, ordered two days jail term

Etawah: A man has been convicted for filing a false SC-ST act against two persons 10 years ago. The SC-ST act Court found Jageshwar Dayal guilty of perjury (misleading the court with false evidence) and misuse of the atrocity act.

0n 14 August 2012, Jageshwar Dayal from Usrahar Village had booked two persons of his village under the charges of the SC-ST act.  On the basis of his complaint, the accused were arrested and faced the trial.

However, during court trial he accepted that he filed a false case against the accused for settling personal scores.

On the basis of the statement of Dayal, the court had aquitted the accused and instructed to start a case against the complainant.

The court has sent the complainant to jail for two days and imposed a fine of 500 rupees.
