Thousands of Muslim protestors flood streets, demand Muslim Act and law on lynching

Dehradun(UK, India): The Muslim Seva Sansthan on Sunday staged a sit-in at the old bus stand in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun and raised various demands including the declaration of the cow as the national animal of India and to enforce a Muslim act similar to SC-ST Act.

Thousands of people swamped on roads to demand the repeal of NRC, the release of Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui, and the implementation of the Muslim Act.

Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui was arrested in September for allegedly running a nationwide syndicate for massive religious conversion.

Protestors have also demanded to implement Sachar and Swami Rangnathan committees. Bhim Army has joined the protest to back the Muslim act.

Caste-based census, Law on lynching: Key Issues

Muslim Seva Sansthan president Naeem Qureshi raised the issues of Lynching and Caste-based census. “Caste-based census has been happening in the country since 1951 but the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government is stopping it now. Caste census should happen,” Qureshi told ANI.

“Lynching is like a blot on our society and we need to stop this with a special law”, he added.

The Muslim Seva Sansthan chief warned that the organization will stage another similar event at Jantar Mantar in Delhi if demands are not met.
