After 18 Years, Court acquits 5 Yadavs accused of SC-ST Act

Jounpur: Over 18 years after five Yadavs were booked over the alleged case of Dalit atrocity, a sessions court in a recent order acquitted the accused of all charges.

A case was registered against Ramalagan Yadav, Subedar Yadav, Sheetla Prasad Yadav, and Sujeet Yadav in the year 2004. The complainant had given the application to the Line Bazaar Police Station upon which a case was registered under IPC 147, 323, 302, 504, 304, and 3(2) 5 of the SC-ST Act.

It was stated by the complainant that a dispute, over the Babul tree, was going on between the accused and his family. On the day of the incident, the complainant and the deceased Dayaram were attacked by the accused. Which leads to the death of the deceased.

The court trial, which took 18 years, revealed that the injuries caused to the complainant were due to a fall. Also, no evidence has been produced against the accused that could prove their involvement. It also came into notice that a case of murder is being trialed against the complainant. The complainant was booked in the murder case of Sheetla’s father.

Also, the main complainant including other witnesses had turned hostile during the trials.

Special Justice SC-ST act Ramesh Dubey has acquitted all the persons and directed the police to register a case against the complainant for giving false statements and evidence.
