BJP worker mercilessly beaten up by policemen for protesting against SC-ST act

Pratapgarh(Uttar Pradesh): A BJP worker has been admitted to the district hospital after being indiscriminately beaten up by policemen under the Sangramgarh Police station limits. The ruling party worker identified as Arjun Gupta.

Preliminary information revealed that Arjun Gupta was framed under a false case of the SC-ST Act for complaining against the Ration mafia.

In a letter written to the SP, Arjun claimed that he was booked under a false case of the SC-ST act as he was doing complaints against the Ration mafias. In repercussion of the false case, he staged a protest in front of the local police station from July 1.

The letter

“But after the three days of the protest, Policemen came and started beating up the victim. As a result, his conditions started deteriorating and then policemen rushed him to the nearest hospital where he was referred to the district hospital”, the letter states.

“I was mercilessly beaten by Inspector Amit Singh for protesting against a false case of Dalit atrocity. I was vomiting blood but they didn’t stop”, Arjun Gupta said Neo Politico.

“The case of the SC-ST act is ruining my life. I have a family, where should I go for justice”, he added.

However, police denied the allegations and said he was only called up for discussions regarding the case. No physical force was used against the victim.
