Central government announces National Holiday on Ambedkar’s Jayanti

New Delhi: The central government has declared April 14, Dr. BR Ambedkar’s birthday as a National holiday on Monday. A notification has been sent to all central government offices including industrial establishments to comply with the decision.

The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions issued the notification that this year, 14 April will be a closed holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar.
