Trump Blames Immigration for France Unrest, Warns Paris Could Become ‘Muslim City’

Washington, D.C.: US President Donald Trump has blamed immigration for the recent unrest and street violence in France, urging European countries and French President Emmanuel Macron to tighten border controls and remove what he described as criminals from their territories.

Speaking to reporters in Washington on Monday, Trump rejected explanations linking the unrest to other domestic issues, insisting that immigration was the primary cause of the protests and violence witnessed in France in recent days.

Recalling a conversation with the French president, Trump claimed he had warned Macron against allowing large numbers of people from across the world to enter France.

“Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon,” Trump said, making a remark about the French capital’s demographic future.

The US president also warned European nations of dire consequences if they failed to strengthen border controls and address illegal immigration.

Trump’s comments came amid demonstrations over rising prices in Paris and other French cities over the weekend. The protests reportedly escalated into street violence, described in the report as among the worst France has experienced in recent years.

Immigration control has remained a central plank of Trump’s political agenda. During his 2024 presidential campaign, he repeatedly pledged to crack down on illegal immigration, at times making claims that drew criticism for playing on racial fears.

His latest remarks underscore his continued emphasis on immigration as a major political and security issue in Europe, while raising questions about the relationship between migration, social tensions and public order.
