Gaya: Roshanganj Panchayat’s Sarpanch representative, Santosh Kumar, has denied allegations against him in a case registered under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and urged senior police officials to conduct a fair and impartial investigation.
Kumar said a case was registered against him on August 19. He claimed that he was away on a Kanwar Yatra with his family and members of the panchayat from August 17 to August 22. According to him, notices regarding his absence had also been displayed at his office.
Kumar has sought the intervention of the Magadh Range IG, SSP and City SP, asking them to examine the allegations objectively and establish the facts of the case.
He further alleged that Rampati Ravidas, a teacher from Rodidih village under Banke Bazaar police station, and Dr Pannalal had been repeatedly filing cases against him and harassing him. Kumar also alleged that the two were involved in land dealings. However, these allegations have not been independently verified.
The Sarpanch representative also referred to another case allegedly filed against him at Banke Bazaar police station on September 11. He claimed that he was present at his office that day, hearing villagers’ grievances, and said he possesses photographs and videos to substantiate his claim.
Kumar has demanded an impartial investigation into both matters and appropriate action against anyone found guilty after the facts are established.
