New Delhi: In a significant relief for commercial establishments, state-run oil marketing companies have reduced the prices of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders across India with effect from July 1, 2026. The revision marks the first reduction in commercial LPG prices this year and follows an easing of geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which had previously driven up global energy costs. However, the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder has been left unchanged for the month.
In the national capital, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 183.50, bringing the retail price down to Rs 2,930. Similar reductions have been announced across other major cities, with Mumbai witnessing the price fall to Rs 2,885.50, Kolkata to Rs 3,072, and Chennai to Rs 3,100. Consumers in Patna will also benefit from a price cut of Rs 173 per commercial cylinder.
Alongside the reduction in commercial LPG rates, the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has been lowered by Rs 13, taking its retail price in Delhi to Rs 808.50. The move is expected to provide some financial relief to restaurants, hotels, catering services and other businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG for daily operations.
Despite the latest revision, domestic LPG prices remain unchanged. A 14.2-kg household LPG cylinder continues to cost Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai, Rs 968 in Kolkata, and Rs 957.50 in Chennai.
The latest price cut comes after a series of upward revisions over recent months. In June, domestic LPG cylinder prices were increased by Rs 29, while in March oil marketing companies raised household LPG prices by Rs 60 amid disruptions in global energy markets caused by the conflict in West Asia. Commercial LPG prices also saw a steep increase in April as geopolitical uncertainties pushed up international fuel prices.
Industry observers believe the latest reduction reflects improving conditions in global energy markets and could help ease operational costs for businesses dependent on commercial cooking gas. While commercial consumers have received welcome relief, households will have to wait longer for any reduction in domestic LPG prices.
