BJP Announces Its Biggest-Ever Uttar Pradesh State Executive Committee Ahead of 2027 Assembly Polls

Lucknow: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its Uttar Pradesh state executive committee for 2026, comprising 712 leaders, ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The newly constituted committee includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi among 30 permanent invitees, along with 134 special invitees and 548 state executive members.

The list, released by Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, marks the party’s largest-ever state executive committee. Former Union minister and senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi, aged 92, has also been included as a permanent invitee.

Former Dataganj MLA Sinod Shakya, who reportedly joined the Samajwadi Party on Monday morning, was named a state executive member later in the day. Party leader Kaushal Kishore, who had reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with the organisation, has also been included.

The BJP’s state executive committee meeting is scheduled to be held in Lucknow on October 30, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah expected to attend. A meeting of state office-bearers will take place a day earlier.

The organisational exercise assumes significance ahead of the 2027 Assembly polls, as the BJP seeks to strengthen its cadre and address concerns following its setbacks in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, when the INDIA bloc won 43 of Uttar Pradesh’s 80 seats.
