New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the achievements of his government over the past 12 years, emphasizing progress in poverty alleviation, infrastructure development, healthcare, digital inclusion, women empowerment and support for farmers. Sharing details on social media platform X, the Prime Minister described the journey as one marked by “trust, development and public welfare.”
In his message, Modi said that the government has worked continuously to improve the lives of citizens through a range of welfare schemes and development initiatives. He noted that free food grains have been provided every month to more than 81 crore beneficiaries under the government’s food security programme, helping millions of families across the country.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the expansion of housing and sanitation facilities. According to him, over 4 crore houses have been constructed under various housing schemes, while more than 10.5 crore toilets have been built to improve sanitation and public health. Additionally, tap water connections have been extended to over 12 crore households, significantly improving access to clean drinking water.
Focusing on youth and entrepreneurship, Modi stated that around 2 crore young people have received skill training, while more than Rs 40 lakh crore has been disbursed through the Mudra loan scheme. He also pointed to the growth of India’s startup ecosystem, which now includes over 2.2 lakh startups.
For the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister said that over Rs 4.3 lakh crore has been transferred directly to farmers under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He added that crop insurance claims worth Rs 2 lakh crore have been provided, while 8 crore farmers have benefited from Kisan Credit Cards.
Highlighting women’s empowerment, Modi noted that more than 32 crore women have been linked to Jan Dhan bank accounts and that over 10 crore women are associated with more than 91 lakh self-help groups. He also cited the granting of permanent commission to women in the armed forces as a significant step toward gender inclusion.
In the healthcare sector, the Prime Minister said that free treatment coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh has been extended to over 70 crore poor citizens, while India achieved 90 percent vaccination coverage.
On infrastructure, Modi pointed to the expansion of national highways and airports, both of which have increased significantly over the past decade. He also highlighted landmark projects such as the new Parliament Building, Atal Setu and the Chenab Rail Bridge.
The Prime Minister further stated that India’s defence exports have grown substantially and that the Mission Gaganyaan programme continues to advance the country’s ambitions in human spaceflight. Reaffirming his government’s commitment to development, Modi said the progress achieved over the last 12 years has been driven by the support of 1.4 billion citizens and a “nation first” approach.
