Rohtak: A shocking murder case has unfolded in Haryana’s Rohtak district, where a man, identified as Hardeep, allegedly killed his tenant, Jagdeep, after discovering he was having an affair with his wife. The victim’s body was subsequently burned and buried in a seven-foot-deep pit in Charkhi Dadri.
According to the Rohtak Police, Jagdeep, a yoga instructor at Baba Mastnath University, was living in a portion of Hardeep’s house. The investigation began after a missing person’s report was filed at the Shivaji Colony police station, leading to a two-month-long search.
“Case of Rohtak resident Jagdeep’s body found in Paitawas village. Rohtak police disclosed the incident and arrested two accused,” Rohtak Police stated in a post on X.
The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) unit, led by Kuldeep Singh, revealed that Jagdeep was abducted on December 24 while returning from work. He was then taken to Charkhi Dadri, where Hardeep and his accomplice, Dharampal, executed the murder. The victim’s body was then buried in a pit that Hardeep had allegedly prepared under the pretext of digging a borewell.
“The deceased was abducted, and then he was buried alive. There are 1-2 more accused involved in the crime. The teams are trying to catch them. The arrested accused have been presented before the court. They are currently on remand,” Singh told ANI.
Police recovered Jagdeep’s body on Monday after analyzing his call records, which provided crucial leads in the investigation. Hardeep and Dharampal were arrested, and their pictures were shared by Rohtak Police on social media platform X.
The post-mortem of Jagdeep’s body is scheduled to be conducted. The police are continuing their investigation to apprehend the remaining individuals involved in the crime.
