Badaun Authorities take Action Against False SC/ST Cases, Initiate Recovery of Government Aid

Badaun: In a significant development, authorities in Badaun have initiated strict action against individuals who filed false cases under the SC/ST Act. A total of 20 such cases have been identified where the accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence, false testimonies, or manipulated documents. The administration has started the process of recovering financial assistance that was provided to the complainants at the time of filing the cases.

The SC/ST Act ensures financial aid to victims through the Social Welfare Department. However, recent investigations have revealed that some individuals misused this provision by filing fabricated cases. During court trials, evidence and witness statements proved that the allegations were false, leading to acquittals.

Authorities have now identified these cases and are working to recover the financial aid from the complainants. Notices have been issued to all individuals involved, and the administration has compiled a comprehensive list of these cases. The district court has also been informed about the ongoing action.

The false cases were filed in various police stations across the district, including Moosajhag, Jarifnagar, Ujhani, Bisoli, Binawar, Islamnagar, Kunwargaon, Dataganj, Sahaswan, Bils, Mujariya, Wazirganj, Faizganj, Behta, and Ughaiti.

The administration sought a report from the Social Welfare Department, which confirmed the list of cases where the SC/ST Act was misused. The Special Judge for SC/ST cases, ADJ Rinku Jindal, was notified, and the court forwarded the list to the Social Welfare Department. Following this, administrative authorities officially commenced the recovery process.

This action marks a crucial step in curbing the misuse of legal provisions and ensuring that government assistance reaches only genuine victims. Authorities have emphasized that similar scrutiny will continue in future cases to prevent fraudulent claims.
