“Ambedkar Wasn’t the Constitution Maker!”- Swami Anand Swaroop Drops Bombshell, Throws Open Debate Challenge to Dilip Mandal

Haridwar: In a bold and direct move that has sparked intense discussion across social media platforms, Swami Anand Swaroop, the head of Shambhavi Peeth in Haridwar, has openly challenged prominent Dalit activist and writer Dilip Mandal to a public debate. The bone of contention: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s widely acknowledged title as the “Father of the Indian Constitution.”

Taking to social media, Swami Anand Swaroop criticized Dilip Mandal for allegedly spreading misinformation about Dr. Ambedkar’s role in the framing of the Constitution. He wrote,
“Although this puppet of Modi Ji has already blocked me, he is claiming that 299 people called Ambedkar the Constitution maker. You have no knowledge of history, no understanding of the Constitution. Ambedkar joined the Constituent Assembly about a year later — then how could he be the maker of the Constitution? Was the entire Assembly peeling potatoes for one year?”

Swami Anand Swaroop further argued that the true architect of the Indian Constitution was Dr. B. N. Rau, who, according to him, has not received due credit because of widespread propaganda. He stated that glorifying Dr. Ambedkar alone as the “maker” of the Constitution is a historical and procedural injustice.

He then issued a direct invitation to Dilip Mandal for a debate, saying,
“I consider you to be somewhat educated. Whenever you want, I am ready to debate this subject with you.”

The sharp words did not stop there. Swami Anand Swaroop also pointed out that Dilip Mandal has a long history of making provocative statements against Sanatan Dharma, the Brahmin community, and Hindu traditions, often stirring controversies through his social media posts.

While Swami Anand Swaroop’s remarks have found support among certain sections, they have also reignited heated arguments over Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and the broader narrative around caste, representation, and constitutional history in India.

Dilip Mandal, known for his outspoken views on social justice and caste issues, has yet to publicly respond to this challenge. Meanwhile, social media users are eagerly waiting to see whether this verbal duel will turn into an actual debate or remain a one-sided rhetorical strike.

The issue is now trending online, with many questioning established narratives and others defending Dr. Ambedkar’s celebrated contributions.
