Chennai: DMK’s ally and Dalit organization Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi have called for banning Juneau in Tamil Nadu. The demand sparks controversy among the Hindus and various political parties of the state.
The ongoing Hijab row in Karnataka is gaining traction in the state as the BJP President K Annamalai has announced the ban on Hijab if the BJP voted to power. In reaction to Annamalai’s statement, the general secretary of the VCK party has announced the banning of Janeau.
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi’s Deputy General Secretary, Vanniarasu had tweeted, “There will be a time when VCK rules TN. At that time wearing janeau will be banned. It is the first and foremost job in destroying Sanatana”.
The VCK party which was formerly known as Dalit Panthers has a long history of doing anti-Brahmin politics. The VCK is sharing government with its political ally DMK.

It is an Indian social movement that seeks to combat alleged caste-based discrimination. The party also has a strong emphasis on Tamil nationalism. Its chairman is Thol. Thirumavalavan, a lawyer from Chennai and its general secretary is the writer Ravikumar.
Thol is a Member of Parliament from the Chidamabaram district of Tamil Nadu.
