Jaipur: Four policemen, including a Station House Officer (SHO), were suspended for failing to register a complaint by a woman against their former in charge in Rajasthan’s Nagaur district.
It was brought to the notice of the SP Shri Ram Murti Joshi that the SHO Dharmpal Meena was not registering the actual complaint of the woman who was raped by the former SHO of the Khunkhuna police station.
Meanwhile, on the night of April 30, the present Khunkhuna SHO, Dharmpal Meena, was found drunk during a night patrol. “Taking serious note of the matter, SHO (Dharampal Meena), two head constables, and one constable were suspended on Sunday,” Nagaur SP Ram Murti Joshi said.
“I was raped by SI Shambhu Dayal Meena 15-20 times”
A 24-year-old woman had accused the SI Shambu Dayal Meena of the rape charges.
She complained that when the accused SI Shambhu Dayal Meena was heading the police station, she had a case going on in the same police station due to which she got acquainted with Meena. After that Meena did wrong things to her many times.
The victim said that Meena used to call her to Didwana, then used to take her to a room in a car & blackmailed her several times & threatened to kill her. The victim said that SI raped her 15-20 times. But due to huge pressure, she took her case back. Now, she wanted again to reopen the case for which she contacted the IG office.
Following the complaint, the IG office directed the Nagaur SP to get an FIR registered. On April 29, the SP’s office instructed the SHO of Khunkhuna to register the case through a forwarding letter along with the complaint of the woman, they said. However, only the contents of the forwarding letter comprising directions from the SP office were mentioned in the FIR while the part carrying the woman’s complaint was excluded, police said.
