Srinagar: J&K Board Class 12 topper Aroosa Parvaiz from Kashmir is facing toxic trolling for not wearing Hijab. The best moment of her life became the worst when some radical Muslims started trolling her and her family members for not wearing Hijab. Whereas, Aroosa has responded to the trollers by saying that she is a Muslim by heart not by hijab.
Aroosa Parvaiz topped the science stream of the J&K Board by scoring 499 out of 500 marks. Soon after the result announcement she and her family had started getting congratulatory messages. But after a few hours, a group of Radical Muslim trollers has started asking questions about her social media appearances. The users were trolling Parvaiz for not wearing Hijab.
“Begairat….Pardah nai kia…Eski Gardan Katt do..”
A radical Muslim user ‘One Soul Two Eyes’ has threatened Parvaiz with death calls. He wrote “Begairat… Pardah nai Kia … Eski gardan Katt do…” which means “The Shameless girl didn’t cover her face… behead her”. “ While other user wrote, ” On one side Muslims in Karnataka fighting for Hijab on the other side people in Kashmir don’t care about it”.
However, Aroosa Parvaiz said, “These comments never bother me but they’ve taken a toll on my parents. Wearing or not wearing Hijab doesn’t define one’s belief in their religion. Maybe, I love Allah more than they (trolls) do. I’m a Muslim by heart not by hijab.”
J&K Board class 12 results were announced on 8 February. Like past several years, this year too, girls outperformed boys with a 78 percent success rate. Just after the results were declared news with topper’s photos were published by various Media outlets.
After the Karantaka’s Hijab row, Muslim groups are strictly advocating for the Hijab. However, the educated section of the Islamic society has rejected the strict imposition of the Hijab on Muslim women.
