Amit Shah Hits out at Congress: “Article 370 Will Not Return, even if Indira Gandhi Descends from Heaven”

Mumbai: In a series of fervent speeches delivered across Maharashtra on Wednesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, targeting three generations of the Gandhi family while addressing issues like Article 370, Muslim reservation, and the construction of the Ram temple. His remarks come as part of a broader election campaign strategy, bolstering support for the BJP-led alliance ahead of the Maharashtra elections.

“Article 370 Will Not Be Restored”

In Parbhani, Shah emphatically stated that Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, would not be reinstated under any circumstances, adding that “even if Indira Gandhi comes down from heaven,” Article 370 would remain permanently abrogated.

No Reservation for Muslims in SC/ST Quota

Commenting on the ongoing controversy around Muslim reservations, Shah said that even if “four generations of Rahul Gandhi” requested it, Muslims would not be granted a reservation intended for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes.

The “Rahul Aircraft” Will Crash Again

Taking another dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Shah predicted Congress’s defeat in Maharashtra, stating, “Soniaji, keep in mind that the ‘Rahul aircraft’ is going to crash again in the Maharashtra elections.” He accused the Congress of false promises and repeated electoral failures, insisting that the BJP-led coalition would form a stable government in the state.

Key Highlights from Shah’s Speeches

  1. “Mahavikas Aghadi is Aurangzeb Fan Club”
Shah labeled the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) as an “Aurangzeb Fan Club,” contrasting it with the BJP-led Mahayuti coalition, which he described as embodying the values of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Veer Savarkar.
  2. “MVA Government as Congress ATM”
At a rally in Jalgaon, Shah claimed that if the MVA came to power, it would use Maharashtra’s resources as an ATM to fund Congress’s central interests, funneling state resources to Delhi. In contrast, he assured voters that the BJP-led government would prioritize the state’s development.
  3. Rahul Gandhi Accused of Misleading the Public
Shah criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly brandishing a fake copy of the Constitution during a recent rally, stating that pages in the copy shown to journalists were blank. He asserted that this was an attempt to mislead the public and discredit Dr. Ambedkar’s work.
  4. Congress “Politics of Lies”
Shah accused the Congress party of fostering lies and inaction during its tenure from 2004 to 2014, especially concerning Naxalite activities. He dismissed Congress’s claims that investments have decreased since the BJP took office in Maharashtra, instead arguing that Maharashtra is now leading in foreign investments under BJP leadership.
  5. PM Modi’s “Line in Stone”
Shah described Prime Minister Modi’s promises as “a line in stone,” stating that the Congress party’s election promises have faltered in several states. He cited Telangana, Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh as examples where Congress failed to uphold its pledges.
  6. No Classical Language Status for Marathi
Shah criticized NCP leader Sharad Pawar, alleging that despite his lengthy political career, Pawar did not push for Marathi to be recognized as a classical language.
  7. “Rahul Plane Crashed 20 Times”
In Jintur, Shah mocked Rahul Gandhi’s recurring defeats, saying the “Rahul Baba plane” had crashed 20 times and would crash again in the upcoming elections.
  8. Congress’s Stance on Ram Temple
Shah accused Congress of deliberately obstructing the construction of the Ram temple for years. He highlighted the efforts made by PM Modi in building the Kashi Vishwanath corridor and claimed that the BJP would oversee the enhancement of the Somnath temple as well.
