Bhopal: In a horrific incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 6-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered in Seoni Malwa. The accused, identified as Ajay Dhurve, a friend of the victim’s father, allegedly kidnapped the girl from her home while she was sleeping, took her to a secluded location, and committed the heinous crime.
The incident came to light on Friday morning when the girl’s family discovered she was missing. A frantic search ensued, and the police were immediately notified. During the investigation, suspicion fell upon Dhurve, who had earlier that day made an unusual request to the girl’s father. He had asked to adopt the girl and offer his son in exchange. The father, dismissing it as a strange joke, had not taken the request seriously.
However, Dhurve’s behavior soon raised red flags. When questioned by the police, he was found to be intoxicated and initially denied any involvement. However, under intense interrogation, he confessed to the crime, revealing that he had raped and murdered the girl in a fit of rage after his adoption request was rejected. He then disposed of the body near a nearby canal.
The police, acting swiftly, launched a search operation and recovered the girl’s body. A post-mortem examination confirmed the horrific details of the rape and murder.
The incident sparked widespread outrage in the community, with residents demanding swift justice for the victim. Angry protests erupted, with the victim’s family and local residents blocking roads and demanding that the accused be given the harshest possible punishment.
To appease the agitated crowd, the local authorities assured them that the case would be fast-tracked through the courts. The police station in-charge, Anup Singh Uike, gave a written assurance that the chargesheet would be filed within 10 days and the case would be heard in a fast-track court. The accused, Ajay Dhurve, has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.
