India: Amid ongoing farmer’s turmoil, 4 Dalit men burnt farmer to death

New Delhi: In a very tragic event in India, a farmer was allegedly set ablaze over a land dispute on Friday night. The incident took place in a small village of Uttar Pradesh, a state in India, from where thousands of farmers are flooding to Delhi to protest the newly introduced farm laws.

The accused belong to the Dalit community of the rigid caste system whereas the deceased comes from the upper section of the society. Due to their rigid divide in society, it also sparks hate between the two groups.

According to the local media, the deceased Harish Chandra Sharma used to stay on his fields which was a matter of anxiety between the families. The deceased family accuses that to take revenge over a trivial dispute of land the four persons from the blamed family set Sharma on fire while sleeping at night.

Apart from this, the investigative team found an injection which was claimed to be injected on the body of the deceased to make him lethargic and unconscious. Local police are investigating the matter and expect to solve the case in the coming days.

However, on the application of the victim’s family, police have arrested two people from the blamed family while a search for two more accused is still going on.
