Jhansi(Uttar Pradesh, India): A girl who was tied up with a chain and lock has been released by the local police on Wednesday. As per details, the victim’s parents had tied her with shackles so that she could not marry her Hindu boyfriend. However, the girl informed the police when she got the chance.
The girl alleged that she is having an affair with a Hindu boy for the last three years. But it was strongly opposed by her family as the boy hails from a different faith.
Nevertheless, the couple had completed the formalities of court marriage and were to appear before the District Magistrate on Tuesday. On realizing this, the girl’s father had tied her with the shackles.
“They were threatening me as I was going to marry him at a nearby court. They’d put chains on my ankles, and tied me with a lock”, the girl told to Neo Politico.
“I was chained most of the time and brainwashed so that I can’t marry my Hindu boyfriend. It was terrible,” she added.
However, as soon as the information was received, the police rescued the girl from the shackles and took her to the police station.
The police have registered a case against her father Ahmed Khan for chaining the girl. On the other hand, CO City Rajesh Kumar Singh said that the girl has expressed her desire to marry the young man. The girl is an adult, so the action will be taken as per her wish.
