Ratlam(Madhya Pradesh): A video of the Mahalakshmi temple is doing rounds on social media with the claims that a temple priest is putting some offerings in his pocket during the ‘Deepotsav Mahotsav’. The viral video has put the temple administration on the tenterhooks as the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Commissioner of the Temple Trust has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
Local media also reported the matter without verifying the facts and learning the other side of the story. The video in itself was not very clear.
In the video, it can be heard that a person who was giving the money to Pujari is requesting him to put this money in his pocket.
To clear the fog over the claims, our team reached the temple premises and asked the pujari to explain what exactly had happened.
The Pujari whose name is Sanjay told us that it was his worker who asked him to put the money in his pocket. He indicated this in the video. The person was working with the temple committee. It was his money(not donated by any devotee) who was doing his job. Also, most of the time Bhakts don’t prefer to donate to the temple administration but give it to the priests.
Also, the person who was seen in the video has also confirmed us and rejected the claims made over the SM.
DM issued a letter demanding clarification
Pujari clarified that the DM has issued him a letter to clarify his stance on the video. He said no one from the temple administration has raised any questions on the video. Everyone knows the truth.
Group of Bhakts joined to protest the letter of DM
A group of bhakt has come to protest against the letter of the DM issued to the priest. In protest of the fake claims, bhakts made a video where they can be seen to give Dakshina(offering) directly to the priest but not to the administration.
A Devotee who came to support the priest has told Neo Politico that they are offering money to priests, not to the government.
