Muzaffarnagar: An FIR has been lodged against seven people, including Maulana Kalim Siddiqui, who the ATS caught for illegal conversion.
Maulana Kalim Siddiqui is accused of doing the forced conversion. The FIR has been lodged in the Muzzafarnagar district of UP by Amit Prajapat alias Abdulla. The complainant said that they lured him with 4 lakh rupees and were forcing him to read Kalma.
Amit Prajapati, a resident of Charthwal, told that he had met Haji Salim in a furniture showroom in the year 2014. It is alleged that he took him to Phulat madrassa in May 2014 and changed her name to Abdullah.
He was taken to the Jamaat in Maharashtra where he was asked to convert young men and women of other religions. The accused had paid him four lakh rupees, from which he bought a plot in Charthaval.
Forced to eat Beef
It is alleged that on October 25, Haji Saleem, Dilshad, Zahid Mulla, Naushad Chhota, Yameen, and Israr Pradhan brought beef to his house in tiffin and asked him to eat it.
On the victim’s application, an FIR under Sections 3 and 5 of the Prohibition of Conversion of Religion Act 2021 has been registered. The police is doing further investigations.
