Gorakhpur: In a tragic incident that has left the local community shaken, a 32-year-old delivery boy was found shot dead in Bhitha village near Sahjanwa in Gorakhpur. The victim, identified as Dhirendra Dubey, also known as Vishal, was employed as a delivery person with Zomato. The incident was discovered early on Thursday morning when residents found his lifeless body lying near a new, numberless motorbike.
Police and forensic teams arrived at the scene promptly after being alerted by villagers. The investigation revealed that Dhirendra sustained gunshot wounds to his head and right temple, indicating a brutal attack. Authorities suspect this may be a planned act of violence, as the nature of the injuries suggests a targeted execution.
According to the Sahjanwa police station in-charge, Vishal Upadhyay, the investigation is being treated with high priority, though the motives behind the murder remain unclear. Upadhyay confirmed that once the formal complaint is lodged, a case will be registered, and appropriate legal actions will follow.
Dhirendra’s family, residents of Sihapar village, reported that he had left home around 4 p.m. the previous day without informing anyone. His father, who works in agriculture, expressed shock and grief over the incident, as Dhirendra was the youngest in the family.
Local witnesses recalled that a group of villagers had been taking their morning walk near Bhitha village when they came across the suspicious sight of the abandoned bike and Dhirendra’s blood-soaked body lying nearby. They quickly contacted the police, who subsequently identified the deceased and began collecting evidence from the scene.
